A$50.6 million grantfrom GPE to the government of Punjab in Pakistan supports theTALEEMprogram (Transformation in Access, Learning, Equity and Education Management). TALEEM employs a range of strategies to reach as many out-of-school children as possible.
TALEEM:
opens non-formal education centers where no schools are available
mobilizes communities to enroll children in school
provides teachers with the necessary training
renovates school buildings with better toilet and water points
integrates children with disabilities
enhances data collection and use to make the education system more efficient.
Thanks to this work, close to130,000 children previously out of school are learningand as many teachers have received training, paving the way for better education outcomes.
