Women Leaders Advancing Gender Equity: Apply for the AAUW International Project Grants 2026

Are you an alumna of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowship Program with a passion for creating positive change in your community? The AAUW International Project Grants 2026 are now supporting women leaders who are turning their knowledge, experience, and leadership into practical solutions that improve the lives of women and girls around the world.

Through this initiative, AAUW provides funding to former International Fellows to design and implement community-based projects that advance gender equity, women's empowerment, and social development in their home countries.

About the Grant

The AAUW International Project Grants program enables former AAUW International Fellows to apply their academic training and leadership experience to address local challenges affecting women and girls.

Projects should demonstrate clear community impact, address a documented need, and contribute to sustainable improvements in gender equality, education, economic empowerment, leadership, health, or social inclusion.

Funding

Successful applicants may receive:

  • Up to USD $10,000 per project

  • One-year project implementation period

  • Support for community-based initiatives with measurable outcomes

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Identify as women

  • Be alumnae of the AAUW International Fellowship Program

  • Have successfully completed their fellowship program and reporting requirements

  • Be non-U.S. citizens or non-U.S. permanent residents

  • Reside in and implement the project within their home country during the grant period

  • Serve as the primary project director with responsibility for program and budget management
